Transparency Matters

Affiliate Disclosure

There's a version of this page that reads like a legal document nobody asked for. This isn't that version.

Here's the straightforward version: some links on this site earn us money. When you click certain product links and buy something, we receive a small commission from the brand. The price you pay is identical to what you'd pay going directly to their website — this isn't a fee passed to you. It comes out of a marketing budget the brand already has set aside.

Those commissions are genuinely what keeps this site going. Writing honestly about products takes time. Testing things, researching alternatives, and figuring out what's actually worth recommending versus what simply has good packaging — that's the work, and affiliate commissions help fund it.

How Affiliate Links Work

If you've ever purchased something through a link on this site, that purchase directly contributed to our ability to keep doing this. We appreciate that support.

Affiliate commissions never increase the price you pay. They come from the brand, not from your pocket.

Our Relationship with Impact

We work with Impact.com as our primary affiliate network. Our Publisher ID is:

5681188

Through Impact, we maintain relationships with brands across home, fashion, beauty, and lifestyle categories. When you click an eligible affiliate link and make a purchase, their tracking system may register a commission for us.

Outside of Impact, we occasionally link to products and services we genuinely find useful without having any affiliate relationship at all. In those cases, we earn nothing from the click.

We include those links anyway because the purpose of this site is useful recommendations — not maximizing every link for revenue.

Our Editorial Independence

This is the part that matters most: affiliate relationships have never changed what we recommend. Not once.

We've written critically about brands that pay commissions and recommended products that earn us nothing because they were the right answer for readers.

Commission rates have never influenced editorial decisions on this site.

When content is sponsored — meaning a brand has specifically paid for coverage — we clearly disclose that at the top of the article. That's the only relationship we believe deserves separate disclosure, because it's where payment was made specifically for exposure rather than referrals.

Our opinions remain our own, but you deserve to know the context.

FTC Compliance

This disclosure is intended to comply with the FTC's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255).

We'd rather tell you more than you needed to know than less than you deserved.

Questions about any of this — about how we make money, who we work with, or anything else — we're happy to answer.
